Dear Secretary Lorenzo,

We are writing in behalf of our organization (Nom de votre organisation), based in (Nom du pays).
We were made aware that your office approved the import of four bottlenose dolphins from the Japanese drive fisheries.

We wish to inform you that the drive fisheries in Taiji, Japan, is a practice where hundreds, if not thousands of dolphins and whales are driven to the shore. The younger, more trainable animals are separated from their herd to be bought by the dolphin show industry while the rest of the animals are butchered. The dolphin-show industry claims that they "rescue" the animals. On the contrary, the money they pay the Japanese fishermen now fuels the drive for the hunt. The International Whaling Commission (IWC) does not consider the drive fisheries a sustainable hunting activity and import of animals from the drive fisheries are not allowed in most countries, including the United States.

We know that hunting of whales and dolphins is now prohibited in the Philippines. You are supporting the practice of dolphin/whale hunting in Japan by importing animals from the drive fisheries.

We would like to ask your office to cancel the said permit. Otherwise, we regret that we would need to inform the general public in my country to not patronize the Ocean Adventures park in Subic. We shall also inform our network of travel agencies to omit the Ocean Adventures Park in Subic as a tourist destination in the Philippines.

Thank you and we expect your response regarding this matter.

 Sincerely,

(Signature)
